One of the most eventful occasions that aspiring nursing professionals look forward to this year is the releasing of the Nursing Board Exam result December 2011 . Out of the 84, 287 who took the exam December of last year, only 29,711 have been fortunate to pass.

Many are indeed hopeful to get their own license as the competition for this highly sought-after profession is getting higher and higher each year, with job opportunities getting lesser and lesser.

Hopefully, the new set of nursing professionals has brighter futures waiting for them. Much to the dismay of students who are still studying to become nurses, those who have already passed the exams, as well as those who are already practicing the profession, the promised jobs abroad do not come as often as it used to be.

Gone are the hopes for greener pastures that were used to be synonymous to the nursing profession. There might be a lot of possible reasons why the demand for Filipino nurses has waned down over the years. However, what needs to be done now is to help create more jobs, may it be locally or internationally, that are related to the nursing field so that these new set of professionals, as well as those who passed the exam in the previous years and those who are still studying to become nurses, could still be able to practice what they have tediously worked so hard for in their education years.

If everything can be done online, then why not money transfers? With more and more things being accomplished through the World Wide Web, and more and more people becoming self sufficient in accomplishing transactions on their own, then it would not be surprising to find an online service that allows you to send money with just a few clicks. One such service is PayPal. It is so easy to use and it has been around for a while. In fact, more and more people in the Philippines are seeing the advantages of using PayPal for online transactions.

The problem, however, is that not so many people know what this kind of money transfer service is like. If you are one of those unfortunate ones who have not yet seen the light, here are some of the basic know how’s of using PayPal.

What Is PayPal?

To put it simply, it is a much faster and more efficient way of paying people and getting paid by people. This is a better alternative compared to the more traditional methods of checks and bank to bank money transfers.

How to Make a PayPal Account

If you know how to make an email address, then it would be easy for you to make your very own PayPal account. Here are the basic things that you need to do.

First you need to have an existing email account (e.g xxxxxxx@yahoo.com, or xxxxxx@gmail.com, etc.)

Open https://www.paypal.com/ph.

Click the sign up button found at the left side of the window.

Then, you will be brought to a page where you need to choose the country or region you are in. You also have to choose if you intend to have a ‘Personal’, ‘Premier’, or ‘Business’ account. Choose the one that best suits your interests.

After clicking what account you want to have, you will then be taken to a page where you need to input some information needed about you. Make sure that you use correct information about yourself as changes can be a little bit difficult once the account has already been made.

After you have filled up the necessary details, you then need to click the ‘Agree and Create Account’ button.

Then you will be asked for your credit card number information including its expiration date and CSC. This information is important in the validation process of your card. If you do not have a credit card, just click to the ‘Go to My Account’ button.

Important: You cannot transfer money from PayPal to your bank account if the latter has not been verified. Thus, it is imperative to have your own credit card or debit card so that you can start money transfer and payments. . The name in your card should be the same name that you used in your PayPal registration. Make sure that you have P100.00 in your card as this would be needed for the transaction. Check your account statements for the Security Code that PayPal sends. This is what you need to complete the verification process.

How to Withdraw PayPal in the Philippines

First you need to have a verified PayPal Account.

Look for Profile. This is found as a sub-tab under My Account. Hover your mouse on ‘Profile’ and then click ‘Add/Edit Bank Account’.

Click on the ‘Add’ button.

Then you will be taken to a page where you need to input information about your bank account. Similar to your credit/debit card information, the name of the account holder of your bank account should be the same to the name that you used to register your PayPal account.

Then click on ‘Continue”.

After adding you bank account, you may proceed to the Withdraw sub-tab still under My Account.

Then, you have two options. You can either ‘Withdraw funds to your bank account’ or ‘Withdraw funds to your card’. Each has its own corresponding transfer fee and processing duration.

Remember that there is a minimum withdrawal amount, depending on the currency you are using. For US dollars it is $10.

Input the amount you want to withdraw and see to it that you have chosen the appropriate bank account you want to use. Then, you need to click continue. If you want to know how much the current exchange rate is, there is also a link for ‘Currency converter’.

You will be taken to a page that summarizes the transaction that you have made. In order to continue, you need to confirm that everything is correct. Then you can click the ‘Continue’ button if you think there is nothing to change in your withdrawal.

Withdrawals below P7,000 are charged with P50.

How to make money from it?

There are a lot of means that PayPal account holders could make money while using this kind of money transfer service. These are just some of the many known methods that a lot of people use:

Paypal’s Merchant Referral Bonus Program – this allows you to earn a part of every money transaction that the person you referred to PayPal makes. The idea is you earn a dollar for every $200.00 that your Referred Merchant receives. Also, you get five percent of the total amount they spent for payment in a span of 12 months. This kind of program is only applicable for Business or Premier Account.

One is though networking. This works by asking people to give a dollar to a specific set of PayPal accounts. In return, when they have already sent money, others would also refer their PayPal account in the same manner.

Online Business Opportunities – By opening a PayPal account and having it verified open new doors for money making though online methods. Most of these online business trust the kind of service that PayPal offers that is why all transactions, payment and receiving of payment, of most online businesses are done through the use of PayPal.

The July 2010 Nursing Licensure Examination has been ended and we are down to the final phase- the board exam results. There have been a number of comments, emails, and assumption roving in the entire country asking this single question. When will be the date to announce the Nursing Board Exam Results for July 2010 takers? I have searched more than an hour hoping to find answers to this simple question but no luck, I can find any hint. What I found out- there are number of nursing website and even blog asking the same question.

In my idea, this may take more or less a month of waiting to make results available to public. This means that, more days to sleep before you could see your name in the list. On thing is for sure, the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) would make this as early as possible to keep the long wait ended.

Also, I am excited on the come out on this exam as I have been blogging this topic the entire quarter. Is there another nursing leakage in the making? How many passing rate would it be? Would it be half of the 92,000 total examines? Are those schools warned by CHED got above 46.5% passing rate to save their nursing program? Anything is possible under the sun. I’m keeping my fingers cross and hoping for the best.

Please continue to visit Nursing.ph for the free viewing of complete list of July 2010 Nursing Licensure Examination Board Passers.

You wanted to level up your car forum but don’t know how to do it? I have listed seven guidelines on how to grow a flourishing online community. The first vital element is patience or shall I say dedication, this involves religious hard work and persistence with the elements of new members and participation. Having these, your car forum will surely grow and eventually reach its highest peak.

Tip# 1: Seed your car forum with content.

Make your car forum overflowing of informative contents. Focus on the kind of topics which are interesting and can attract new member. Try to figure out what the most love car subjects that usually top on search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. For example, if you have Toyota Car Forum then you may write a category about for Fortuner. With that, you can make new thread offering Fortuner features and prices. So that while searching in Google about Fortuner feature and prices, a possible new member may come across your thread and decide to be a member in your forum.

Tip# 2: Persuade new and old members to reply in threads and create new topics.

This may achieve by creating opinionated new topics. This is also effective of convincing loiters to sign up for them to give their opinion. Posters will usually agree or object with opinionated threads because this creates speculations which result people to talk. An active user makes the hit in active forum.

Tip #3: Use a presentable forum style with a customize logo.

As always, you want to make your forum standout without being associated with others. This is very important in creating the viewers first impression because first impression last. Members would surely appreciate and even proud to have a presentable forum.

Tip #4: Do not lose hope and continually post new topics.

It is expected to have dull moments in your forum such as only few visits or worst no from a member visits you within a day. If this happen, you can recruit friends to join you and participate as having new member might take time. Meantime, you must continue and persistently active in creating new threads available for discussion. If you will not do it then who else might do?

Tip #5: Know your existence.

This is also a very necessary factor in having a car forum. It is your task to let members you exist. This includes advertising your forum and creating backlinks. You can promote to your forum to all other forum that you belong to. But, note not to spam, you can simple used signature links and post announcement. Also, if your friends, officemate have a blog then ask them to write about car forum which directs to your own forum. You can also try sending emails to those who are in your contact list, request other forums or websites for link exchange. Lastly, list your forum in free directories so the world may know you.

I am a fun of Pilipinas Got Talent show. It showcases several talents of the Filipino people. The jurors are Ai-Ai delas Alas, Kris Aquino, and Freddie M. Garcia aka FMG with the show host Luis Mazano and Billy Crawford.

The show started roaming around the entire Philippines to look for the most qualified Filipino to won PHP 2,000,000. There are several auditions made from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The mechanics of the contest is very easy; you just need to get 2 out of 3 votes to be qualified on the next level. Luckily, Jovit Baldivino got three yeses from the three judges singing the song “Faithfully” original by Arnel Penida, lead singer or the band “Journey”. From that time on, Jovit captured the heart of the Filipino people local and OFW, he then becomes the YouTube sensation. Almost all the people in the Philippines waited for the next round to hear Jovit sing again.

Round 2 had started and Jovit was again chosen to be one in the 36 contestants chosen by the Big 3 judges. These 36 contestants will again compete with each other down to 12 finalists.

For the round 3, each contestant will perform and the public will have the chance to vote who’s to be in included in the top 3. The top one will be automatically qualified for the final round and the top 2 and top 3 will again perform and the judges then will have to choose either of the two to proceed to the finals. This is performed every Saturday, 6 contestants will showcase their talent and only two will be chosen. In this round, Jovit choose the song “Carrie”, he got standing ovation from the 3 judges plus the crowd. The crowd goes wild and scheme. They couldn’t believe a 16 year old boy which is very small body but a very big, clear, beautiful voice. Jovit indeed had a great voice, which is the difference from good singers to great singers. Many and many more become fun of Jovit which they called themselves “Jovitnatics”. Jovit got the highest vote and qualified for Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals was held last June 12, 2010 joint celebration with Independence Day. He presented number 6 with his winning piece “Too Much Love Will Kill You” by Queen. Again, the audience gets crazy and wild. After he presented, everyone watching PGT already knows who will be the winner.

On June 13, 2010 (Sunday), was the announcing of winners. Top 3 has been called namely: Baguio Metamorphosis, Velasco Bros, and no other than Jovit Baldivino. The non-winning participants takes home PHP 50,000 while top 2 and top 1 will receive PHP 100,000. The Velasco Bros won the 2nd place and Baguio Metamorphosis for the 1st place.

Jovit Baldivino declared as the first ever Pilipinas Got Talent Winner and was able to received PHP 2,000,000 plus a contract to ABS-CBN. He got 48.9% of the total votes. People were very happy and satisfied. There is no doubt that Jovit got what it takes to be the Filipino who got talent.

Manny Pacquiao had knockout Mr. Roy Chiongbian last May 10, 2010 elections in their fight for congressman in Sarangani Province. Chiongbian clan ruled Sarangani for almost 18 years however Manny had dethroned them last election. Manny got two times the number of votes that made him a landslide victory.

James L. Chiongbian the father of Roy Chiongbian who factually created Sarangani province by authoring Republic Act 7228. Roy Chiongbian served as the new province’s first congressman for nine years. He was succeeded by his son Erwin who had also served for additional nine years.

Manny had worked out this time. At the night of the election, he is very busy like an apprehensive candidate. He calls and personally speaks to his poll watchers at the 379 precincts at schools and public meeting places all over his area. He is finding way to sense how the voters were leaning, these are comprises by coconut farmers, tuna fishermen or laborers who exist on less than $2 a day.

In 2007, he first ran for a congressional seat aligned with another political empire, Darlene Antonino-Custodio in General Santos City, his hometown. He failed to win in the election because of lack in political knowledge and ineffective campaign. Pacquio admitted that he lost big in campaign expenditure. Some noted instances are running away his money of those who volunteered to help for the campaign.

Manny claimed that this is his most satisfying win in his life. Certainly all his hard work was commendable; he got 80 percent of the total votes. It is approximately 90,000 votes out of 125,000 registered voters which made the boxing champ mathematically impossible to be defeated.

He promised to focus on the livelihood projects for his political plan aiming to alleviate the lives of those ordinary workers such as coconut farmers, tuna fishermen or laborers in Sarangani province, the hometown of his wife Jinkee.

Fresh from the disappointing turn out of the election and the three top most presidential candidates’ concession, the last thing I wanted to see was a voting turn out that even a first grader could question.
There was a site available online, complete with all the graph diagrams, where you could check the specific results in each precinct. It was supposed to be a plus factor for the automated election, something that could help boost its shaky disposition among the masses, considering that the website is able to satisfy the curiosity of the people.

However, it seems that the plan backfired as there were links coming from the same website that are being distributed in the net showing some scrupulous voting turn out. No, this is not a comment coming from a biased spectator. Even those who support the candidates who reigned victorious in the 2010 election would also have the same observation.
Read this: one presidential candidate got approximately 700 votes, the second candidate only got 3, the third 1, and the rest zero. The scenario was also the same with the other positions being voted for – from the vice-president down to mayor and vice-mayor. Of course, the voting number did not follow the same pattern for all positions, however, they were almost identical.

With the rage of disappointment in my heart burning, I was already starting to map out a plan on how I could shout “CHEATS!” to the faces of the people responsible by embarking on an online propaganda to make the government answer this pressing issue. But then again, a friend made me realize something. The answer was only composed of three letters – INC. http://www.pcij.org/stories/2002/inc2.html

Just before the May 2010 election, Iglesia Ni Cristo, one of the religious institutions here in our country announced their support for Aquino and Roxas tandem. Known for its bloc voting power which only failed during the Marcos regime, the group has attracted a lot of politicians hoping to get the blessing of the group along the millions of votes from the members. And quite frankly, the precincts that garnered those seemingly suspicious results are known territories of INC members. Thus, case dismissed.

Well, this situation only tells us that smoke does not always necessarily means fire. Yes, some of the PCOS machines might be faulty or that chaos ruled during the first automated election in the Philippines. However, this does not mean that we can already point our fingers towards people and accuse them of cheating their way to the top. Rest assured, although it was not perfectly executed, the COMELEC did try to make this election better than we were used to have.

Have you ever encountered this word? Well, honestly when I first heard this word, I immediately think of my favorite cartoon series “Digimon Adventure” because I thought they are trying to say “digimon” short for digital monsters, the general term to all pocket monsters.

However, when I begun to do research on this word, I was actually amazed of what I have discovered. I come to realize why I had that reaction; it’s mainly because I am not one of them which also the reason why I am not familiar with the term.

For the information of the reader like me, I would like to define what “jejemon” is and to give exact example for you to understand what kind of people using or tolerating this and their reasons behind.

Define Jejemon:

Is either a noun or adjective.

A person used to replace vowels with consonants in typing a word or constructing a sentence.

An individual that is believed with a very low Intelligence Quotient (IQ).

Somebody who devastates language ethics by posting a comment through social networking sites like Facebook or replying a message using cell phone.

Somebody who was not educated with language secrecy and pretends to know or used it with their own idea or decree.

A term used by an individual who enjoys typing – “jejejeje” when laughing or expressing happy emotions or thoughts. Like scorning enemy in internet games such as Dota and Ragnarok.

How to identify jejemon fellows?

They do not have the ability to express their self in English language properly. Basically, they have low knowledge in grammar, punctuation marks, and vocabulary.
They are just illiterate pretending to be literate in terms of language structure.

Their names usually start with El followed by Spanish or Portuguese word.
They tend to incorporate too much letters or symbols in typing or constructing a word or a statement even in their very own names or aliases.

Jejemon sentence example:

Sentence 1: e0wSsZz pOwhhZzmUsZtAhH nUah pOwhHzz kEowHsz.

Sentence 2: miSzMaldiTahh111 here EoW pFuOh! PuNtah TyO0 ZtArBuckKzz! Jejejejeje!”

Sentence 3: pFroUwd 2 b @ jEJ3mOn!

Now tell me, are you a “jejemon”? If you are, you better shape up. You are not showing a good example to each and everyone. Most of all, you are an embarrassment to your language teacher, language professor, language mentor, even to your family and in your own self. Why? Because, you are destroying the language work of art.

What is Leet?

Is this the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) which is conducted by the Philippine Regulatory Board (PRC)? No, that is LET, I mean leet.

Leet -a special annual or semiannual court in which the lords of certain manors had jurisdiction over local disputes. Yes but, that is not what I mean. I mean the 1337 (leet) which has famous meaning over the net:

The term leet is derived from elite. This is a figurative representation that used abbreviations, numbers and misspellings to avoid words be detected by searches and filters. The idea of abbreviated words was first used in networked computers during 1960s when transmitting data rates were so slow, the reason why they attempt to shorten words such as “@” for “at” and “be” for “b”.

In the year 1980s, leet was originated. This is used to illustrate status on a Bulletin Board System (BSS) to allow a user to access the files, games, and chat rooms. This is used to overcome text filters created by BBS to daunt discussing banned topic such as cracking and hacking. They tend to used ASCII characters and misspelled words. Using ASCII characters is also one way of detecting one has knowledge in computer. Leet is simplest sense is similar to encrypting a word.

In the long run, 1337 became popular over the net but its main purpose is hardly practiced rather this was used for fun, the internet way of being cool by many people. Leet is also often called as internet slangs. It may take time to acquire this knowledge however; you may start this by knowing the 1337 alphabet.

A	/-\ or /\ or 4 or @
B	|3 or 8 or |o
C	( or < or K or S D	|) or o| or |> or <|
E	3
F	|= or ph
G	( or 9 or 6
H	|-| or ]-[ or }-{ or (-) or )-( or #
I	l or 1 or | or ! or ][
J	_|..............

Common words used in 1337 speak:
Like = leik

Own = pwn

Pwned = pwnt

You = j00

Hacks = Haxz0rz

Lol = lawl

OMG = ZOMG

The = T3h

Suck = sux

The origin of leet speaks is as follows:

leet comes from:

Elite » leet » 1337
Words like "plz" come from:

Please » pleas » ples » pls » plz
Well I got to go » Got to go » gotta

go » got 2 go » gtg » g2g
What's up? » Wasup? » Sup?
I'm laughing out loud! » I'm loling! » lol

I'll be right back » I'll b right back » I'll b rite bac » brb
