If you want to make money online, it is good if you have a niche. You can make money even if you are nicheless, but with a niche people would visit your site for help first, before searching elsewhere. There are many niches you can choose from. Bloggers advice that choosing a niche depends on 1 factor, your knowledge about the niche. They say that if you want to choose a niche, choose a niche that if someone wake you up at 3 a.m, you can write about the niche without having to do any research. But I disagree with them. I think that choosing a niche depends on 2 factor, your knowledge and your budget.

Pros of Choosing a Niche based on Knowledge

1. You would be independent. You don’t have to wait for anybody to write your articles and you would have to consider these things before buying the article.

2. You can also be called an expert in the niche. This would be evident when you comment on other people’s blog. You would be able to leave meaningful and helpful comments on the blog. When people ask you a question on a topic either by leaving a comment on your blog or emailing you, you would be able to quickly answer their question.

3. Since you are considered as an expert, when you recommend a product to your readers, they would trust you more.

4. It cost nothing. The only thing spend is your time and your brain cells.

Cons

1. You would spend time to think and edit your articles. You want to
check your fact before publishing the article. It might take you between
30 mins to 2 hours to write an article.

2. If you are busy with other stuff, your site progress is on hold.

3. The niche you choose might not have high paying adsense keywords.

Pros of Choosing a niche based on your budget

1. You can hire writers to write the article for the niche site. The 30 mins you would have spent writing the article would be used to do other things such as answering your emails.

2. You would be able to set up the site quickly because you would receive the articles on time.

3. You are not restricted to any niche. You can choose a niche with high paying adsense keywords.

Cons

1. You expect your visitors to come to your site through search engines. If you want to leave meaningful comments on other blogs, you would have to tell one of your writers to comment on your behalf or you would spend time to educate yourself on the niche.

2. If the writer has to take care of his/her business, you site progress is on hold. You would have to hire a new writer.

3. It is expensive. You need to be sure you would get a positive ROI from your investments.
