Every time I’ve search for specific term and can’t find the answer, it always annoyed me and hate the website I’ve visited as the author wrote intentionally for SEO purposes only. And it is more annoying when I’ve read some lines that sound like these “If you are looking for information about… you can’t find it here, or this post is intentionally for SEO reasons only”.
Thanks to Neil Patel for pointing- out the not so – obvious mistakes commit of most blogger. As I’ve read his entire post about “The 7 Harsh Realities of SEO” the portion of writing content for search engines is bad, catches my attention and I can’t help to agree it is true.
Mr. Patel also noted that search engines don’t read the content you publish only people do. So it is important that you write an article with a balance. It means, write an article that your reader understand and they get the information they want when they are landed into your post. Another important thing to consider is your readers are your customer not the search engines.
There are many things you need to consider when writing articles. Firstly, the best way to keep people reading your post is by ensuring you articles they are pretty amazing. One way to do that is having a nice title that convince them to read on. Secondly, your article is means of giving your readers a reason to do business with you. Your article should ensure every reader walk away from your site very happy with what they learned and what they read. If you do this, people will surely come back to your site again in the future. Not only that, they will also subscribe to your site, as well as recommend you to other people. Lastly, a lot of people now are familiar with basic SEO, they can easily recognize whether your article is merely for search engines only, as they can seen your targeted keywords from title, in your first paragraph until the last part.
I also remembered what Sean Mize suggested in writing articles “although your main goal is to optimize your articles, focus on the needs and demands of your target readers first when writing your copies”. Make them informative and reader friendly, he added.
It is not bad to mention the targeted keywords as long as you didn’t flooded your post with the same keywords. Two or three keywords are enough as well as with links. It is annoying to read post containing more links. Another thing worth mentioning is, you should have write unique content worth reading. Always remember, the reason why people come across to your post is to know something, they are looking for information they never read from other websites. In short, both people and search engines demand for unique articles.
It is clear now that writing for SEO so as for humans is not that hard at all. You only need to consider some factors. Once you have a nice and unique articles, more people will come to your site, and you fortunate enough if some of them link your post to their site. More links to your site is an important factor in search engine as what Neil Patel emphasized.

This is very true – if the content itself isn’t good, all the SEO in the world won’t help you.

Focus on readers needs is a key operating principal that will ensure a loyal following. Blogging just because you like the sound of your own voice/typing, or purely to score well on search engines, may bring in traffic, but the visitors that find your blog will not be satisfied with what is written and quickly turn away.
There is, as you say, a fine balance between writing for SEO and human visitors. I would err on the side of writing for humans and if it is well written then a lot of the SEO elements of a post will naturally come out during the writing.
